A Brand-New, State-of-the-Art Federal Career Training Room

The new Federal Career Training Institute in Baltimore, Maryland is the first and only training facility designed specifically for the Ten Steps to a Federal Job curriculum, Mastering the SES Application, and CFJST/CFCC workshops. We invite you to experience our technologically-advanced, student-focused training center for yourself.

As of May 2011, the Federal Career Training Institute has found a permanent home and training facility just a short trip from Washington DC, in Baltimore, Maryland. Our new training facility is conveniently located just minutes from Baltimore Washington International Airport and Rail station.

Kathryn Troutman has conducted her Ten Steps to a Federal Job course in training facilities all over the world, and she has learned what works best for our classes and our students. This brand new facility was designed according to Kathryn’s training room “wish-list” and clearly benefits from her years of training experience.

Facility Features:

Two 90-inch HD Projection Screens

Two screens for training means no more switching back and forth from the resume to the announcement, or from the internet to the PowerPoint.

Wifi Access

Reliable and secure 2.4G and 5G wireless internet allows clients to safely transmit personal files to and from their mobile devices, as well as access personal email and jobs accounts like USAJOBS.gov.

Computers for Every Participant

Bring your laptops to class, or, for those attendees without personal laptop computers, we have 10 brand new laptops available for use during the class. Each is preloaded with Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, and secure browsing software. Each seat in our training room has its own electrical outlet for mobile devices.

Comfortable Seating

Advanced HON furniture specially designed for full days of training by adult students provides each attendee with comfortable, supportive seating, and ample workspace.

Small Class Size

In each of our classes, students are accessing online resources, using our books, and writing and editing their own documents – some on computer and some on paper. This is why we decided to limit the size of our training room and the number of students attending each class to just 20. Training fewer students in each class allows us to spend more one-on-one time with clients during our writing, drafting, and coaching sessions.

Interview Coaching with High-Definition Video Recording

Interview Coaching can now be recorded and viewed instantly in high definition on one of our two 90-inch HD screens. Our facility is equipped with broadband internet for quick access to online media, two high definition screens for crystal clear images, and a custom audio system. Students that need to conduct a presentation during their interview can do so using the latest version of PowerPoint and wireless slide presentation tools. Every word and movement can be captured by Sony HD Camera for instant personal or peer review and one-on-one coaching. Instant playback and review of your interview by our expert coaches and your peers is the ultimate preparation for Behavior-Based Interviews. Some may consider it a trial by fire, but it beats showing up unprepared to an interview you worked so hard to get.
