Workshop Deliverables
- Understand the federal SES hiring process
- Identify your ECQs and the 28 Leadership Competencies
- Develop, articulate and write executive level work experiences and accomplishments
- Develop and write the new Five-Page SES Federal Resume
- Prepare and respond to Technical Qualifications
- Prepare and practice for the SES Behavior Based Structured Interview (Mock Interviews & Video Playback)
- Post-course: 5 hours of professional editorial review for either Five-Page SES Federal Resume ($1,000 value)
Participants Will Learn How To:
- Gain knowledge of the Senior Executive Service and Executive Leadership selection process; understand how the SES hiring process is managed by agencies and OPM
- Optimize their ability to articulate leadership
- Identify their ECQs and the corresponding 28 Leadership Competencies
- Use OPM’s preferred Challenge‐Context‐Action‐Result (CCAR) model to write about their Executive Core Qualifications
- Think up the organizational ladder
- Articulate in writing their decision‐making and leader styles, and learn about Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and Executive Accomplishment Writing
- Understand the SES Five-Page Resume-Based application and the Traditional executive application packages
- Understand the varied application procedures for SES applications.
- Develop and write the new Five-Page SES Federal Resume
- Prepare for and present their qualifications in the SES Structured/Behavior‐Based interview
- FORMAT: Computer training. Attendees should bring a laptop, along with their resume, Top Ten accomplishments, (pre‐workshop homework) and other relevant documents.
- One-hour pre-class teleconference
- 5 hours post-class editorial guidance
